Kate Themel's Fabulous Fiber Art

Wowed by the fiber art creations of Kate Themel, I just had to share them!
Kate, who lives in Connecticut, asks, "Who needs paint?"
She prefers fabric as her artistic medium, and then adds
machine stitching to achieve texture, depth, and detail.
Honey Bee, above, with a close up below, shows off her level of expertise.
Enjoy these fine examples of Kate's true talent and creativity!

Bees? ... Please!

I've long been attracted to bees. (Just hoping they're not too attracted to me.)
The magnificent architecture of the honeycomb and hive.
The hierarchy of their lives from the royal queen down to those ever-busy workers.
Not to mention the delicious honey, which I adore in my tea!

Here's a great quote:
Draw honey out of the comb of Scripture and live on its sweetness.
~Charles Spurgeon

I had a wonderful opportunity to visit a beekeeper & see his honey bees.
You can see my photos and read the post: My Honeybee Adventure!

I also like bee art: patterns, prints and the bee motif on anything and everything.
I have a board on Pinterest called "Bumblebees, Honeybees" that you can check out.

Enjoy this gathering of bees!

Natalie Wargin’s Gorgeous, Bold Watercolors

Natalie Wargin finds inspiration for her watercolors
as she explores the beautiful Hudson River Valley of her New York home.

She's a multi-faceted artist, expressing her creative talents through
embroidery, paper mache, sewing, and quilting, in addition to painting.

I'm really drawn to her bold colors and to the way she fills her frames with life!
She adds sweet surprises like the grasshopper above,
and the honey bees or frogs below.
Enjoy the watercolor world of Natalie Wargin!

Wonderful jack-in-the-pulpit!

The Lovely Watercolors of Buttermoths

These watercolors of blossoms, birds, berries, bees and butterflies
are so very charming, I couldn't help but share them with you!
They're done by Colleen, the talented artist behind Buttermoths.
Soft - that's the word I think of when I see these.
And that brings a sense of calm.
Enjoy these lovely pieces of art and see if you feel it too!

Modern Pottery by Julia Smith Ceramics

juliasmith

Julia Smith, of Scotland, is an artist of many talents.
She creates unique hand-thrown pottery in her studio by the sea.
She uses red or black lava-like clay, adds rich glazes, and then
completes each piece with a decal that she draws and screen-prints by hand.
The results are just wonderful!
