Eerie Antique Halloween Photographs

These antique photographs from decades back
show creepy Halloween costumes of the time.
There's something unnerving about them, isn't there?
Kind of makes your skin crawl.
Particularly unsettling in black and white or sepia tones.
Bone-chilling, eerie, haunting.

Helen Ahpornsiri's Fabulous Pressed Flower Art

The talented Helen Ahpornsiri, of the UK, loves to gather leaves, ferns, & flowers.
She places them for up to 6 weeks in a flower press to flatten them.
Armed with a very sharp xacto knife, she creates a
delicate image with the utmost artistry and precision.
The results are nothing short of gorgeous!
Her prints, stickers and greeting cards can be purchased on Etsy.

Watch this YouTube video, "Butterfly Made with Pressed Fern."

A close-up is a feast for the eyes...

She's even done tiny projects!

Surreal Paintbrush Portraits by Alexandra Dillon

I first noticed the surrealist art of Alexandra Dillon on Pinterest.
Avant-garde and edgy, she paints portraits on old,
found objects such as paintbrushes or padlocks.
The unique personality of each one emerges as she begins painting.

Another of my posts with more padlocks here:

Welcome, Autumn!

Autumn is such a glorious time of year!
A season when the chilly air calls us
to snuggle into our sweaters while sipping our
favorite warm drinks from mugs.
Enjoy my selection of things that speak of autumn.
Crisp, cozy, autumn.

"And all at once, summer collapsed into fall."

Beautiful Blue Peacock Pottery

As you know, I'm a major fan of hand-thrown pottery,
so I was happy to find Blue Peacock Pottery on Etsy.
The talented artist is Marisa Krivachek of Saint Lucas, Iowa.
Marisa creates terrific mugs, bowls, platters and more,
with interesting shapes and eye-catching glazes.
I really like her style, don't you?
