Historic Christ Church - Philadelphia, PA

I recently took a drive into the historical area of the city (Philly, that is), 

and found myself at Christ Church of Philadelphia.

Due to all of the well-known folks who attended worship there during 

Revolutionary times, it has also been called "The Nation's Church". 

We're talking Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross, among others.

 Historian and author David McCullough, 
whose books include "John Adams" and "1776", said, 
"No other church has played a more significant role in our nation's birth." 

I've always loved the charm of cobblestone streets!

Christ Church is still holding services, as they have for 311 years now, 
and welcomes visitors to attend.

Beautiful colonial architecture, inside and out.

The tomb of Robert Morris, a financier of the American Revolution,
and a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

The tomb of Andrew Hamilton, who was known as "The Philadelphia Lawyer".

He was the founder of the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania.

Christ Church is located on 2nd Street above Market Street in Philadelphia, PA.
