Helen Ahpornsiri's Fabulous Pressed Flower Art

The talented Helen Ahpornsiri, of the UK, loves to gather leaves, ferns, & flowers.
She places them for up to 6 weeks in a flower press to flatten them.
Armed with a very sharp xacto knife, she creates a
delicate image with the utmost artistry and precision.
The results are nothing short of gorgeous!
Her prints, stickers and greeting cards can be purchased on Etsy.

Watch this YouTube video, "Butterfly Made with Pressed Fern."

A close-up is a feast for the eyes...

She's even done tiny projects!

Kay Leverton's Wonderful Scratchboard Designs

Kay Leverton, of Wales, creates her art using a medium called scratchboard.
If, like me, you aren't familiar with this, I'll explain.
Using a sharp tool, or nib, a layer of india ink is scraped and scratched away,
exposing the white clay surface underneath.
The resulting black and white image is detailed and dramatic.
Kay achieves fantastic texture, perspective and depth with her designs.

The Clever Illustrations of Jessica Roux

There's no denying that Jessica Roux's illustrations draw me in.
It's her subdued color scheme, the moody depth she creates with shading,
and her subject matter, which I find especially interesting.

Her groupings of items into themed collages are my favorites.
Take time to notice her clever choices:
cone flowers, dainty teacups, a morel mushroom, ornate embroidery scissors.

Jessica's subject matter reflects her infatuation with nature.
I feel instantly calmed as I look through the illustrations of this talented artist.
See if you do, too.

For the Little Ones: Fantastic Felted Slippers by Ffelt

Aren't these tiny felted slippers the cutest things you've ever seen?
Handcrafted by ffelt, these animals will keep the toes of
your favorite babies, toddlers and kiddies nice and toasty!
Artist Naomi Calvert-Smith was born in Wales and settled in Lancaster, PA.
She uses fiber from the local alpacas that she helps care for and loves.
You can just imagine the softest of results!

I discovered ffelt while shopping at Madcap & Co.
(Read that blog post here.)

The Fun Animal Illustrations of Ashley Percival

The owls were the first to grab my attention.
So cute and quirky and endearing. I couldn't resist them.
Not to mention their eye glasses!

Artist Ashley Percival of the UK illustrates children's art.
Owls, pugs and sloths are among his favorite subjects.

These animals are all quite hip and lovable!
Wearing cozy sweaters (OK - jumpers, Ashley)
and ball caps turned backwards,
they're ready to have a good time on bikes or skateboards.
Such a friendly bunch!

Here's where you can find lots more
of Ashley's terrific art:
