The Artistic Whimsy of Mia Charro

The fresh, fantastic art of Mia Charro!

Mia is an artist from Amorebieta, Spain who loves
walking through the woods and practicing yoga.
Her art is inspired by nature, fairy tales, and magic!
I love how she crowns each bird or animal with a wreath of blooms!
Happy, whimsical, fun!

My fave---You know I love her glasses!

Ultra-Realistic Paper Sculptures by Calvin Nicholls

It's difficult to process that these amazing pieces of art
were created with untold quantities of tiny paper snippets!
Calvin Nicholls patiently constructed these paper sculptures
down to the very last feather or wisp of fur.
Immaculately detailed. So realistic.
Appreciating the uber talented Calvin Nicholls!

An Attraction to Vintage Paint-by-Number Wall Art

Did I ever do a paint-by-number? You bet I did.
If only I had saved them from years ago.
Vintage paint-by-number art is very trendy.
Adding a piece brings a tongue in cheek,
don't-be-so-serious punch to your home decor.
A nod to days gone by when we did art kits instead of video games.
An appreciation for wanna-be artists. (Like me.)

Framed or unframed. Often in pairs. Usually in muted tones.
Common themes are nautical, Christian scenes, horses,
Asian, still life, clowns, hunting dogs, and ballerinas.
Plus reproductions of the great classics.

I had a good time looking through loads of them on Etsy.
Here are several of my favorites, complete with links.

The Fun Animal Illustrations of Ashley Percival

The owls were the first to grab my attention.
So cute and quirky and endearing. I couldn't resist them.
Not to mention their eye glasses!

Artist Ashley Percival of the UK illustrates children's art.
Owls, pugs and sloths are among his favorite subjects.

These animals are all quite hip and lovable!
Wearing cozy sweaters (OK - jumpers, Ashley)
and ball caps turned backwards,
they're ready to have a good time on bikes or skateboards.
Such a friendly bunch!

Here's where you can find lots more
of Ashley's terrific art:

Good Natured Wool Art

I'd love to show you the awesome wool art of Good Natured.
Dani creates gorgeous works of art using a technique called needle felting,
the process of felting wool fibers together using barbed needles.

Many of her subjects are animals she encountered
while working for 10 years as an educator at a zoo.
Now she combines her passion for animals with her artistic talent.

Enjoy these examples of how Dani
successfully captures these likenesses by "painting" with wool!

I just had to show you a close-up of this peach.
I am amazed at the realistic colors and shading that she captured!

A very cool things that Dani does is take custom orders for pet portraits!

Here's where you can see more of  Good Natured:
