"Mary, Did You Know?" - Art and Pentatonix

VickieWadeFineArt

The video performance of Pentatonix singing "Mary Did You Know"

may have made its way to your ears via social media.

If so, you know what I'm excited about!

Their fresh rendition of this gorgeous song is amazing!

Before we listen in, though, I'm sharing several beautiful

pieces of art from Etsy; each one depicts the precious bond

between Jesus and his mother Mary, as does the song.

Then hold tight for that video, as well as some info

about the a capella phenomenon called Pentatonix!

And for the finale, listen to Jimmy Fallon, the Muppets, and The Roots

Sea Shell

-by Amy Lowell

Sea shell, sea shell,

Sing me a song, O please!

A song of ships, and sailor men,

And parrots, and tropical trees,

Of islands lost in the Spanish Main

Which no man ever may find again,

Of fishes and corals under the waves,

And seahorses stabled in great green caves.

Sea shell, sea shell,

Sing of the things you know so well.

New Colossus

by Emma Lazarus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

In celebration of Independence Day this July 4th,

I've gathered a collection of artistic renderings

of our very own Lady Liberty!

May God bless America, my home sweet home!
