A Sunny Stroll on Naples Pier

Pier1

Aaaah, back in Naples, Florida!
The Naples Pier has become a favorite place to visit.
Reaching out 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, it's perfect for
people-watching, checking out the fishermen and their catches, dophin-spotting,
taking in the view, sighting shore birds and absorbing the warm sunshine.

It was such a thrill to see so many dophins at the end of the pier!

Cupcake Decorating Competition at Peddler's Village

cupcakes1

On this snow-covered March weekend,
Peddler's Village of Lahaska, PA held their annual
Cupcake Decorating Contest!

My favorite aspiring pastry chef (as well as my favorite daughter)
entered the competition, choosing a woodland theme.
Each contestant was required to submit 6 cupcakes.
I'd say she did a fabulous job!
See what you think!

Nick Gentry Paints on Recycled Computer Discs

gentrymonarch

People from all over mail their old computer discs to London, care of Nick Gentry.
Nick's a mixed media artist who collects these cast-offs, sorts them
and then puzzle-pieces them together like pixels.
Adding shadow and details, he creates these fascinating portraits.
Eerie and haunting, in a way, aren't they?
Here are some examples of how he transforms
obsolete technology into works of art!

Shopping & Dining at The Headquarters – San Diego

blawgsd

From 1939 until 1987, this beautiful building served as
the headquarters for the San Diego Police Department.
After almost 50 years, the department needed a bigger space.
They moved out, and eventually, renovators moved in.
In keeping with the original Spanish architecture,
details such as ironwork and roof tiles were preserved.
New life was breathed into this old piece of real estate
in the Seaport District of San Diego.

The fabulous result was aptly named "The Headquarters,"
a unique shopping and dining experience with historic appeal!

In the mood for a taste of Mexico, we decided on Puesto for lunch.
Casual outdoor dining under orange umbrellas!

Choosing 3 of the above, I was delighted to see some cool vegetarian options.
Make mine 2 Zucchini & Cactus and 1 Potato Soy Chorizo, please.
