Industrial & Upcycled ~ Lamps from the Attic

Please pardon the glare, but I must show you these ingenious lamps 

that have been re-imagined and re-purposed from old junk 

that could easily have been found...well...in your attic!

Vintage pieces that have done their time have moved on to bigger and better things.

Through the creativity and talents of Edna & Allen Danielsen, 
and the magic of electricity, time-worn items have received  new careers as lamps.

The Danielsen's business, Lamps from the Attic, is based in Mount Joy, PA.
Created with an industrial vibe, either lit from within or topped with an Edison bulb,
each nostalgic lamp has its own personality. They say, "Every lamp has a story."
Such a perfect conversation piece!

Always up for a challenge, Edna & Allen are also happy to consider
turning your own personal keepsake into a lamp.





My daughter and I spent a leisurely Saturday afternoon 
shopping in fabulous downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
One of our favorite spots is BUiLDiNG CHARACTER, a hodgepodge of
handcrafted and vintage shops tucked down an intriguing alleyway.

Inside, it was totally "illuminating" to find Lamps from the Attic's shop!

Gauges, gizmos, and gears.

We recognized the pitcher from a blender and a vintage candy thermometer.

Antique toys make fun lamps like these~

An vintage chrome hairdryer and a coffee pot.

 Here we see a carburetor, a gauge, and a rotary lawn mower blade.

A rusty tractor seat takes on a new purpose.

A buoy and the stock of an old gun.

The Fabulous Finds of Funsize Vintage

Funsize Vintage was one of my favorite booths at The Clover Market!

Stuffed with really cool stuff, artfully displayed.

I met Andrea, the friendly owner, and found out she also has an Etsy shop.

Perused that when I got home and selected some of her items to show you,

along with a few shots I took at the Market.

There's something about that certain piece that catches your eye,

and coaxes you to imagine its life in days gone by.

(Yes. That does rhyme. Quite by accident.)

Good things with a history, carefully and creatively selected by Andrea.

Can't say enough great things about Tellus 360!
This is one of those shops that isn't a just a store, but an experience!

Well-named. "Tellus" means "Earth" in Latin.
A fresh, eco-friendly philosophy with fair trade, sustainable items.
Reclaimed wood furniture with an irresistible, rustic richness.

Not only green in the environmental sense, but also literally;
the building is topped with a 9,600 square foot vegetated green roof!

The browse itself is a delight in Tellus 360's peaceful, zen-like ambiance.

Such lush colors! I dare you not to feel the softness!

WeWOOD plants a tree for every purchase of one if its 100% natural wood watches.

Anyone remember Charles Chips? What a creative piece of nostalgia!

Terrific bags! My favorite is the market tote at far right. Made from a coffee bean sack.

It was hard not to take home this rough, hand-carved wood bowl. Imagine what you could keep in it!

Tellus 360's Balance Boards - very cool.

Made from 3 types of reclaimed wood. Bamboo, multi wood & mushroom wood.

Mmmmm. Luscious hand-knits.

Oh, this fantastic table!

Made from one enormous piece of bubinga wood.
The raw bark edge is tactile, woodsy perfection.

At the rear of the store, they have their own art gallery, called Gallery360.

When I visited, the art featured was "By Nature",

Sarah Butzer's captivating collection of black & white photography. 

There was so much more:

Tellus 360 wooden electric guitars, handmade from recycled materials!
Comfy clothing.

Recycled glassware.

Antiques imported from Ireland.

Linens. Jewelry. Cards. Soaps. Candles. Books.

Bamboo bowls & utensils.

And on and on...

Beyond all this -

they do custom work,

commercial furniture and fixtures,

and solar hot water systems.
