Kaleidoscopic Food Scans by Hargreaves & Levin

With some help from a scanner, artists Henry Hargreaves & Caitlin Levin capitalize
on the beauty of fruits and veggies by cleverly arranging them in detailed patterns.
The mirror images remind me of the cardboard kaleidoscopes we had as kids.
Look closely to recognize asparagus, figs, pears, and so on.

Here's another post I did featuring Hargreaves & Levin:

The Delicious "Foodnited States of America"

Chris Durso writes a food culture blog called "Foodiggity."
His 8-year-old son came up with the idea to create a US map
made of food, nicknaming each of the 50 states with a clever food pun.
The "Foodnited States of America" was the result!
What a great father-son project!

Hungry for some fun geography?

And of course, a shout-out to my home state!

98 Cubes of Food Become a Work of Art

Lernert & Sander

The Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant commissioned the artistic team of
Lernert & Sander to come up with something for a food documentary.
The result was this grouping of 98 cubes of food,
cut precisely at 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm.
(That's .98", just shy of an inch.)
Fun to identify each one and to appreciate the artistry.
Exact. Perfect. Cever.

This photo is available for purchase as a print or poster
at the Lernert & Sander website.

Food Maps - Henry Hargreaves

Selecting food that's synonymous with that country or continent,
as in the case of corn with the United States,
photographer Henry Hargreaves has created these fantastic food maps!

He joined forces with Caitlin Levin to come up with clever ways in which to
arrange the various forms of each food to distinguish each state or region.
How fun must that have been?  Take a look~
